Dr Cheng is the Vice President of the University, as well as the Director and a distinguished professor at the Institute of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. His research covers gene transcription regulation, brain neurodegenerative diseases, biochemical and molecular genetic analysis, small molecule drug development, etc. He won the Outstanding Research Award from the Ministry of Science and Technology in 2017.

Deputy Director Chen is a Research Fellow at the Center. He conducts cross-domain research with science, technology, and innovation (STI) as the core, and offers courses related to sustainable science, as well as serves as the deputy director of Taiwan-Japan Exchanges Office.
