On December 13, 2024, President Chihong Lin of Yang Ming Jiaotong University was invited by President Tominaga of Northeastern University to be the Invited Lecture speaker at the SEMICON Japan 2024 Semiconductor Forum held in Tokyo. The forum focused on the future development of the global semiconductor industry and brought together senior Japanese government and industry leaders, including Mr. Tetsuro Higashi, Chairman of Rapidus, and Mr. Yukiharu Inoue, President of ARM Japan.

As the only international invited speaker, President Lin shared the elements of Taiwan's outstanding achievements in the semiconductor field, emphasized Yang-Ming Jiaotong University's experience of co-creation in the science park and high-tech industry chain, and explored how the Joint Ecology Department of Universities can become a core platform for global semiconductor technological innovation and talent cultivation. President Lin proposed to promote technological breakthroughs and cross-country cooperation through an alliance with a Japanese university to create an international technological innovation platform, demonstrating Taiwan's leadership and international influence in the global semiconductor field.
