Yang Ming Jiaotong University and Japanese Policy Institutions, Research Centers and Representative Offices Exchanged Three Major Co-Innovation Proposals for Taiwan-Japan Semiconductors

Sasakawa Peace Foundation (SPF), a large Japanese international non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) in the Indo-Pacific region, held an in-depth discussion on science, technology and innovation (STI), especially the Taiwan-Japan Semiconductor Industry Ecosystem.

The National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies (GRIPS) is Japan's top policy research center, focusing on policy science research and serving as a think tank for national strategic goal research. It is also an important platform for exchanges between industry, government and academia between Japan and other countries around the world, with bilateral exchanges on issues such as new forms of industry-government-academia-research collaborative mechanisms in the digital age, and plans to continue to promote the direction of bilateral cooperation in international academic programs, among other things.

During the meeting with Japanese policy related organizations and representatives in Japan, the delegation of Yang Ming Jiaotong University put forward a three-direction co-creative proposal on Japan's semiconductor policy:

Jointly cultivate technically competent, creative and cross-disciplinary talents to bring new strength to global sustainable development

Invite Japan to be Taiwan's partner in the "Manufacturing as Service  Strong Partner in the "Make it Happen" Strategy

Developing a "Next Generation University Technology Alliance" between Japan and Taiwan based on NYCU Hsinchu's experience.
